General Questions About Detained Individuals

Can I verify a detained individual’s account PIN online?

No. Account PINs cannot be verified online.

Can I check a detained individual’s Chirper balance without speaking with a representative?

No. You must contact InmateSales to obtain the balance.

Can you provide information about a detained individual, such as bond or other charges?

Please contact the jail or the circuit clerk’s office for this information.

I just missed a call from a detained individual. Can I call them back?

No. Detained individuals cannot receive incoming calls. You will need to wait for them to call you back.

Why can’t a detained individual make a collect call?

Collect calling is no longer available. Phone time must be paid for in advance.

Will a detained individual know if I am talking to or purchasing services for another detained individual?

No.

Can I view a detained individual’s call records or Chirper message history?

No.

Funding and Payments

Why was my card declined?

There may be several reasons. Contact InmateSales at (877) 998-5678 or contact your credit card company for assistance.

How will the detained individual receive the money I added?

If you added funds through Direct Pay, the funds are connected only to the phone number you selected. The detained individual can use those funds to call that number.

How will the detained individual know that funds were added?

The detained individual will not receive a separate notification. They will see or use the funds when attempting to place a call or use the applicable service.

Can I transfer Chirper funds to another detained individual or another communication service?

Chirper funds are not transferable. Contact InmateSales to request a refund. You will need your transaction ID.

I accidentally purchased phone time for the wrong detained individual or phone number. Can it be transferred?

Phone-time funds may be transferable. Contact InmateSales for assistance and provide your transaction ID. Funds cannot be transferred without it.

Can I transfer phone-time funds to another account?

Phone-time funds may be transferable. Contact InmateSales for assistance and provide your transaction ID. Funds cannot be transferred without it.

What happens to my funds if the detained individual is released?

Contact InmateSales for assistance. You will need your transaction ID. Funds cannot be refunded without it.

What happens to my funds if the detained individual is transferred to another facility?

Contact InmateSales to request a refund or transfer of the funds. You will need your transaction ID. Funds cannot be refunded without it.

What types of payments are accepted?

Payments must be made with a debit or credit card.

Is there a processing fee for making a payment?

Yes. Processing fees apply. The fee may be higher when completing a payment through a customer-service representative. Current fees are available through InmateSales.com, the InmateSales app, or the automated phone system.

What is the difference between Direct Pay and PIN Debit?

Direct Pay allows you to add funds to a specific phone number. The detained individual can use those funds only to call that number.

PIN Debit adds funds to the detained individual’s calling account. Those funds may be used to call approved phone numbers.

How do I check my balance?

For Direct Pay, log in through the InmateSales app or visit InmateSales.com. You may also call customer service at (877) 998-5678.

Do you offer a combined package for multiple services?

No. Services must be funded separately.

Why can’t I purchase less than $30?

You may be able to manually change the amount on the purchase page.

Why don’t I see the facility I’m looking for in the list?

If the facility does not appear in the list, CPC may not currently provide service at that facility.

Video Visitation

How do I get verified for a video visit?

You must request access through the InmateSales system. Follow the verification instructions provided when creating your account and scheduling a visit.

Why am I seeing an “invalid token” message when I log in?

Contact the Video Visitation support team to reset your username or password.

What do I need to create a video-visitation account?

You will need a valid email address, a clear photo taken from the shoulders up, and a valid form of identification that matches the information on your account.

Which forms of identification are accepted?

InmateSales Accounts

How do I set up an account?

You can create an account through the InmateSales app, by visiting InmateSales.com, or by calling InmateSales and speaking with a customer-service representative.

Do you have an app?

Yes. The InmateSales app is used to add funds and schedule video visits. The InmateSales View app is used to complete remote video visits.

What is the PIN requested when I create an InmateSales account?

PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. When you create an account, you will be asked to choose a four-digit PIN that you will use to access your account in the future.

Why isn’t my InmateSales verification code working?

Check that your phone number and email address are correct, then try again. If the issue continues, contact InmateSales customer service.

Blocking Calls

How do I prevent a detained individual from calling me?

You cannot block calls from one specific detained individual through the website. Contact CPC customer service to request that your phone number be blocked from receiving calls from a correctional facility.

I tried to accept a call but pressed the wrong option. Does that mean I blocked the caller?

No. The only way to block your number is to speak with a customer-service representative.

Will the detained individual know that I blocked their phone number or Chirper number?

The detained individual may know that the number is blocked, but will not be told who blocked it.

Commissary

Are you the commissary provider?

CPC manages commissary fulfillment for certain facilities. CPC does not manage commissary deposits.

Can I purchase commissary funds through CPC?

No. Commissary funds are not accepted through CPC. Funds may be added through CPC’s partner, JailATM.com.
